Our Field Coordinator is responsible for the overall supervision and evaluation of project activities ongoing in Paréa, including the coordination of project resources and reporting to the Executive Director. You will be in charge of the onboarding, daily support, supervision and mentoring of 3 staff members (2 coordinators and 1 officer), and of the overall wellbeing of the team including 20 volunteers on average. Moreover, you will communicate with and support our 10+ partner organizations operating in Paréa. Finally, you will represent Europe Cares locally and be the spokesperson with all relevant stakeholders.

The full-time role is based in Lesvos, Greece. The (ideal) starting date is early January 2024.
Daily tasks

Supervising the services offered by Europe Cares (café and lunch distribution, Women Space, Paréa Club, recreational areas, computer classes, security and monitoring team) in direct collaboration with the Project Coordinator;

Supervising the services offered by partner organizations, ensuring their alignment with Europe Cares values and principles;

Monitoring and evaluating the overall impact of the services offered in Paréa;

Identifying the need and/or possibility for further developing the space and/or the project;

Establishing compliance with the budget;

Performing monthly payments of suppliers, utilities and regular maintenance expenses;

Recording and monitoring the monthly expenses of the operations & drafting monthly financial reports;

Onboarding and training the incoming coordinators;

Supervising the performance of the coordination team, as well as the officer;

Ensuring the overall wellbeing of the staff and volunteer team;

Organizing weekly coordination meetings with the coordination team & individual check-in chats with the coordinators;

Organizing team building events, emergency meetings and/or focus groups in close collaboration with the Volunteer Coordinator;

Supervising the team’s compliance with the guidelines, Code of Conduct, safeguarding policy and all relevant policies of EC;

Training the coordination and volunteer team with the EC safety protocol and establishing their compliance with it;

Intervening in case of emergency (including natural disasters, fights, medical accident, safeguarding incidents, etc.) and filling in incident reports afterwards;

Being the focal point for daily communication and support of internal partners;

Organizing bilateral meetings with internal partners, as well as monthly partner meetings and events;

Establishing partners’ compliance with the Code of Conduct, safeguarding policy, MoU and safety protocol;

Representing and being the focal point for Europe Cares locally for visitors, partner organizations, other NGOs, donors, local authorities;

Promoting the Paréa services (including new services offered by EC and/or partner organizations, and community events) in relevant meetings and chats;

Drafting weekly reports & monthly reports on the development and impact of Paréa Lesvos.
What we are looking for

Eligible to reside and work in the EU (as a small NGO we are not able to offer assistance for visa applications);

Able to commit for 12 months;

Able to provide a Criminal Record Check;

(Under-)graduate degree in a relevant field of study;

At least 2 years of proven work experience in a management position within an international humanitarian context, representing the organization to external actors;

At least 3 years experience in managing a team and individual staff members;
-
Experience managing on-site projects in coordination with headquarters is an asset;
-
Experience in budget management and monitoring cost effectiveness;
-
Experience in conflict resolution and emergency management;
-
Excellent communication & interpersonal skills;

Excellent organizational & time management skills;

Ability to work in high-paced environment and under pressure;

Ability to work independently and take initiative;

Fluent in English and Greek. Other context relevant languages (i.e. Farsi/Arabic/Amharic/Somali) are an advantage;

High degree of integrity and strict compliance to Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policy;

An experienced driver with an international drivers license.
